Woody Harrelson has claimed that he has evidence confirming his father had a sexual relationship with Matthew McConaughey’s mother. Harrelson discussed the alleged encounter while appearing with McConaughey on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast to promote their new show, Brothers.

Harrelson said the story began about nine years ago when the two actors were in Greece. He recalled that McConaughey’s mother, after drinking, told him she knew his father. The actor recalled, “I mentioned my father, and she goes, ‘I knew your father.’ Now, that’s only four words, right? Think about this. That ellipsis. I knew it was more than three dots. It’s like five, dang it.”

According to McConaughey, there were “six-year-olds there” that even understood the “innuendo.” McConaughey said the kids immediately looked into the possibility that his mother and Harrelson’s father had been involved.

“And then off they went to play detective and investigate. And they found pictures. And then they found out this timeline,” the Dazed and Confused star recalled. He mentioned that they discovered that the timeline of events placed their meeting during the second divorce of McConaughey’s parents.

Jason Kelce responded to the timeline by saying, “So the timing adds up.”

Acclaimed for their starring roles on the first season of HBO’s hit crime series True Detective, Harrelson and McConaughey are currently starring alongside one another in the Apple TV series Brothers, which premiered on the streaming service on September 23.
